Social Constructs

Happiness lies
in

          negative

space, fills
trickle-slips and little
cracks.
Like a minus
sign hanging gentle on
a silent sheet.
The pause between words.
Silent in the centre
of a petulant whirl; it rejects
antonymic pretensions.
Happiness is not what
soars after sadness, a nimble
mirror.
It is an absence.
