November 2012 Rubybox

January 7, 2013 § 2 Comments

Since I’ve been so quiet, I obviously have a few reviews to catch up on. Here’s what I thought of the November 2012 Rubybox. :)

Armani Code for Women sample

This smells lovely but again doesn’t give me the overpowering urge to go out and buy a full size version. Staying power is fairly okay, and it’s in a cute little spray bottle.

Armani Code for Men sample

As it was Movember, the Rubies included something for the boys as well, which I thought was really sweet. Jan tried this out and felt about it the same way that I do about the female version. It’s just not in our class of ‘to die for’ scents, but is tolerably nice.

Essence Glam Liner glitter liquid eyeliner

The Clicks Essence brand really is one of my favourites because for the price the quality is amazing. The eyeliner is a stunning addition to my top lid when I wear my goth ‘panda eye’ make-up, and just adds something extra to make it interesting. It draws attention and catches the light beautifully. I am not sure I’m sold on the applicator, as I seemed to need two or three layers to get a solid glitter effect.

Essence Stay With Me coloured lipgloss

I will admit, the bright pink of this gloss gave me a flutter of uncertainty. However, it actually looks alright on (see the picture below of me wearing it), isn’t sticky and lasts for a decent amount of time. The applicator makes it easier to apply the gloss carefully so that it is only on your lips and not on the skin around them as well.

Essence Nailpolish

Another shade I was very uncertain about; I’ll admit that I haven’t worn this yet, although it’s more due to the fact that I’m struggling with nail maintenance than anything else. I think this will be good to wear when working with make-up clients; toned-down, professional and elegant.

Piz Buin and 5 Rooms vouchers

No more vouchers please! I don’t tan and don’t like the decor of the other one. I’d much rather have cosmetics samples as promised.
